Can You Freeze White Pizza Sauce?
- A resounding Yes!
- IF FREEZING:
- Package in rigid sided containers as defined in my article Preparing Food for the Freezer ½ cup freezer jars would be ideal.
- You can take out one or two jars to defrost when pizza night is approaching.
- TO PREPARE AFTER FREEZING:
- Remove from the freezer and put in the refrigerator overnight because it is a pretty solid mass and will take longer to defrost.
- Ready to use when defrosted. This is also a great vegetable dip.

This is the best sauce ever! We put it on everything and use it as a dip too!AnnMarie
Could you use soy milk instead of almond milk?
Ginny McMeans
Yes, definitely AnnMarie.

Thanks for sharing this recipe, it really is a very versatile sauce. I spread it on pita to make vegan pizzas and the next day I used the left-over sauce to make a vegan Mac n cheese....just mixed it with macaroni and butternut squash, topped with Panko and baked it in the oven at 350F for 20-25 mins. As the sauce thickened in the fridge overnight, I used some reserved pasta water to thin it out for the Mac n cheese. Delicious sauce, will definitely be making again!Emily
Is there a substitute for the cashews?
Ginny McMeans
You could use any nut you'd like but the flavor would change a bit according to the nut Emily. The sauce also won't be as smooth as cashews because they 'disappear' completely when processed and become a smooth sauce.
Myrna
Can you use almond flour instead or another grain free flour?
Ginny McMeans
Yes Myrna, that would work.
Ellie
What kind of flour do you use?
Ginny McMeans
Just an all-purpose flour but any can be used Ellie.

What is the recommended nutritional yeast? Is different from the everyday dry yeast?
thanks.Ginny McMeans
Yes, it is completely different from dry yeast Jude. It is added for flavor and extra nutrition. The one that is easiest to find in the grocery stores is Bragg's (in the spice section in a large jar near the bottom) or Bob's Red Mill (in their separate section with their flours etc.).

Can you replace all or some of the cashews with coconut cream? Also can you use oat milk in place of almond milk? Just curious. Thanks so much!!
