Apple Cranberry Crisp - sweet apple and slightly tart dried cranberries covered with crispy almond topping. This easy and delicious Apple Cranberry Crisp is a perfect Thanksgiving celebration.
APPLE CRANBERRY CRISP
May I suggest one of the most popular Fall desserts: a fruit crisp. My version, Apple Cranberry Crisp, is one of the easiest desserts to make, yet very comforting and delicious. Sweet apples, slightly tart dried cranberries - baked under almond, oats, brown sugar topping. Use your favorite baking dish and serve this treat during holidays.
I wouldn't limit this dessert to Thanksgiving. I think it would be great for Christmas too. The topping couldn't be simpler to make: just mix all ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle evenly over the filling. The scent that whiffs through the house while the crisp is baking is fabulous. I hope you will enjoy it! For a gluten-free version, check out my Berry Crisp.
HOW TO MAKE APPLE CRANBERRY CRISP?

Arrange apple slices in the dish. Sprinkle cranberries on top. Drizzle lemon juice over the fruit. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the fruit.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir together oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and almonds. Cut in butter. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the filling.
Bake the crisp for 30 to 35 minutes, until the apples are tender and the topping is golden.
Serve warm.

Lovely apple crisp, Anna! It just isn't autumn without apple crisp, is it? I make at least 3 of these per year (yes, with fresh cranberries!), but have only made 1 this year and didn't for the blog...which needs to be done since my photography wasn't very good in the beginning. I usually make mine with pecans and can't wait to try your recipe with almonds! Pinning tonight (of course!) xo
