Does anyone here know where I can find replacement parts for a traditional cva frontier rifle? I have an old one from a friend and it needs a new breech plug and drum. Any help would be appreciated.

Might be better off to just get a new barrel ,,you will have money and time tied up either way just have to decide

Try Deer Creek Muzzleloaders (765) 525-6181. They have a selection of out of print CVA parts.

Although they just recently set up a web site I couldn't find it today. I did find another Deer Creek Muzzleloading site but they don't seem to be the one famous for carrying all of the old CVA parts.
Note that the real one is in Waldron, Indiana.
The safest way to be sure you've got the right one is to call them on the phone. They're good people to deal with.

Deer Creek is the right outfit for CVA parts, but they will not do a drum,, it's simply a liability issue they won't approach.
They will do a new barrel for you.
There are aftermarket drum's available from several suppliers like Track of the Wolf and Dixie Gun Works,, but your on your own hook for install and liability.

Deer Creek will not likely have a replacement barrel for that model. You can however get a used one on that auction site.
What's wrong with it?

they list a mountain rifle barrel with breechplug/drum for $115.00 & also list the sights & parts for the rib & thimbles. the barrel is in the white.

They own and have on sight their own barrel making machine(s),
They bought the legendary Douglas barrel machines.
Many of the CVA barrels are pretty standard in barrel spec's, it's just a matter of the proper hook/button/tang of the breech and installing the drum then indexing the drum properly,, all this they have been set up to do for decades as they where CVA's "specialty" shop.

I bought a CVA Mountain Rifle on the internet yesterday. The owner said the forward barrel wedge is missing. Would Deer Creek be the best place to obtain one? Are there other CVA rifles that use the same size wedge? To shoot the rifle do I need two wedges?

Sure Deer Creek will have it.
Having both wedges will certainly help with stability and accuracy, but you'll be able to shoot and group the rifle for load development with just the forward wedge in place.
Technically there's a minor difference in those two wedges, the rear wedge is slightly longer but I've been shooting my MR for years without paying attention to which wedge goes where.
I had been shooting my MR for two years before someone here told me there was a difference, :idunno:

Unless the barrel making machinery is a relatively new aquisition, they do not have any barrel making machinery. Several years back, they had all of that stuff but he sold it. If I am not mistaken, it was sold to Long Hammock in Florida. Now, he may have bought some more since I was there last in 2010, I don't know. But at that time, he was out of the barrel making business.

You better call them and get the info about Deer Creek Products straight from them, because unless selling the barrel making machines are a new revelation they've had them for decades.
