You'll yield enough spiced almonds to serve as a delightful nibble for 4-6 people, and perhaps a bit extra for the chef to indulge in.

Whether you're hosting a party or just craving a delicious snack option, these Spiced Almonds are sure to hit the spot!

Recipe Highlights

EXPLOSION OF FLAVORS: These Spiced Almonds are far from ordinary. From the warm heat of smoked paprika to garlic and onion powder…these nuts are packed with a symphony of flavors.

CRUNCHY DELIGHTS: Let's talk about the texture, shall we? At the heart of this recipe, of course, we have our almonds. You'll also love the occasional hint of sea salt that adds an extra layer of complexity to these crunchy morsels.

SIMPLE & SCRUMPTIOUS: This Spiced Almonds recipe is as straightforward as it gets. No complicated steps or obscure ingredients that leave you puzzled. From start to finish, preparing these Spiced Almonds is a walk in the park.

Ingredients

  • Whole Raw Almonds: The star of our show, these almonds are going to be transformed into a crunchy, flavorful delight. You could substitute with other nuts like cashews or pecans.
  • Coconut Oil: Not only does this give our almonds a beautiful gloss, but it also adds a subtle hint of tropical sweetness. If you don't have coconut oil at hand, feel free to use olive oil or even melted unsalted butter.
  • Garlic: Minced garlic is going to infuse our almonds with a rich, savory depth. Garlic powder can work in a pinch, but fresh garlic really makes the difference.
  • Smoked Paprika: This ingredient brings a smoky, slightly sweet note that's simply irresistible. If you can't find smoked paprika, regular paprika will do, but you'll miss out on that smoky touch.
  • Onion Powder: A dash of this gives our almonds a wonderful, well-rounded savoriness. You could substitute with granulated onion if that's what you have in your pantry.
  • Sea Salt: This is going to enhance all the other flavors and give our almonds a delightful crunch. Feel free to adjust the amount to your liking. Himalayan pink salt or kosher salt could also work.
  • Ground Pepper: A couple of teaspoons lend a bit of heat to balance out the sweetness and smokiness. White pepper could be used as a substitute if you want a milder heat.

Tips & Tricks

  • Stirring Secrets: While your almonds are cooking away, make sure to give them a good stir every now and then. This helps to distribute the flavors evenly and prevents any almond from feeling left out.
  • Flavor Fun: Feel free to play around with the spices! If you're a fan of heat, add a dash of cayenne. For a sweeter twist, a sprinkle of brown sugar works wonders. Remember, this is your kitchen adventure.
  • Storage Savvy: These Spiced Almonds are a great snack to have on hand. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature, and they'll stay crunchy and delicious for up to two weeks. Perfect for those sudden snack attacks!
  • Serving Suggestions: Spiced Almonds aren't just for snacking. They make a fantastic addition to salads, providing a delightful crunch. Or try them as a topping for your morning oatmeal. Trust me, it's a game-changer!

Do you need to put paper towels in lid to soak up moisture? I have to do this when I do chex-mix in crock pot
